Members of Reigate, England-based Holmesdale Building Society approved its proposed merger with Skipton, England-based Skipton Building Society at the former's annual general meeting.

The merger will become effective Oct. 1, subject to approval from the U.K. Prudential Regulation Authority. The deal was announced in February.
