BNP Paribas SA announced six senior appointments in its Nordic business as part of its expansion plans in the region.
The French lender promoted Claudine Smith to country head of Norway. Smith, who joined BNP in 2008, held senior positions in Norway until 2015 and senior assignments in Paris thereafter.
BNP also named Alexander Jansen head of Nordic and Netherlands equity derivatives. He joins from Goldman Sachs Group Inc., where he most recently served as its head of Nordic and Netherlands equity and structured derivatives.
Sophie Franklin will serve as head of strategic equity for the Nordics and U.K., while Kjartan Bru will become head of shipping and offshore Nordics. Franklin joins BNP from Deutsche Bank AG, while Bru joins from DNB Bank ASA.
David Kalis was appointed a managing director, responsible for financial sponsors for Nordics and Germany. He was previously head of leveraged syndicate at Nordea Bank Abp. Andre Rhodin also joins BNP as a managing director, Nordic head of growth and start-up companies. Previously, he worked at Citigroup Inc.
