E. W. Scripps responds to political ad disclosure complaint

E.W. ScrippsCo. said Sept. 30 that a complaint filed against the company andits Cincinnati TV station WCPO with the FCC "mischaracterizes" howthe station dealt with its political advertising file.

The complaint accused the station of violating federalrequirements regarding disclosure of information about the purchase ofpolitical ads. Scripps Chairman, President and CEO Rich Boehne said thatcontrary to the allegations, ad scheduling and other required information waslisted in the file and was associated with the correct ads.

The complaint was filed by the Georgetown Law Institute forPublic Representation for various nonprofit organizations.
