Ticketmaster buys sports ticketing provider

Live NationEntertainment Inc. unit Ticketmaster acquired sports ticketingprovider Tickethour Group for an undisclosed sum.  

Ticketmaster said July 26 that the deal will expand itspresence to 25 countries across Europe and the Middle East. Tickethour clients— including the Olympiacos Football Club and the Onassis Culture Centre inGreece, the Belgian Proleague and the Belgian Proximus League and the VikingFootball Club in Norway — will be added to Ticketmaster's portfolio.

The Tickethour team, headed by Executive Chairman GeorgeBolos and CEO Stefanos Kakarantzas, will continue to operate in Norway, theNetherlands, the U.K., Cyprus, Greece and Belgium. Founded in 2006, Tickethourspecializes in sports ticketing technology, and distributes over 8.5 milliontickets per year for its over 65 clients.
