London Biscuits fiscal Q3 profit climbs 49.5% YOY

London Biscuits Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 amounted to 1 Malaysian sen per share, an increase of 21.2% from 1 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.5 million ringgits, an increase of 49.5% from 1.7 million ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 2.5% from 1.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 6.4% year over year to 102.4 million ringgits from 96.2 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to 93.0 million ringgits from 89.1 million ringgits.

Reported net income rose 54.2% year over year to 2.9 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 1.9 million ringgits, or 1 sen per share.

As of May 29, US$1 was equivalent to 3.66 ringgits.
