U.S. hotels recorded positive results in three key performance metrics for the week ended Dec. 22, according to STR data.
Year over year, revenue per available room moved up 4.7% to $50.57, and average daily rate rose 0.4% to end the week at $106.97. Occupancy ticked up 4.3% to 47.3%.
Boston recorded the largest RevPAR increase of the top 25 U.S. markets, with a 24.5% gain to $64.14, and saw the largest uptick in ADR, which rose 8.3% to $135.70. The market also posted the largest rise in occupancy, with the metric rising 15.0%, to 47.3%.
Houston saw RevPAR drop 19.6% to $37.51, the largest decrease. The market also posted the greatest ADR decrease, which declined 6.4% to $85.11, and reported the largest decline in occupancy, which fell 14.2% to 44.1%.
