KKR, Western Natural Resources team up with eye on Williston Basin oil assets

Investment firm KKR & Co. announced May 20 that it formed a partnership with Western Natural Resources LLC that plans to buy Williston Basin oil and gas assets.

"The Williston continues to be a core area of focus for us as we see a significant opportunity to acquire high quality producing assets with attractive long-term value creation opportunities to be delivered through superior technical and operational execution," KKR Energy Real Assets team director Ben Conner said in a statement.

Western Natural Resources is a private company focused on production in the Williston Basin. The company has drilled, completed and operated thousands of wells in the basin, according to the statement.
