Lowe's appoints new president of international business

Lowe's Cos. Inc. on Dec. 6 said it has appointed Sylvain Prud'homme as president, international, effective Dec. 15.

Prud'homme will retain his role as president and CEO of Lowe's Canada and will report to Chairman, President and CEO Robert Niblock.

As the president of international business for Lowe's, Prud'homme will add responsibilities overseeing the company's business in Mexico but will remain based in Boucherville, Quebec.

His appointment followed the announcement that Richard Maltsbarger will be transitioning to COO of the retailer's U.S. business in February.
