A top Indonesian official said the country is not likely to make changes to its rules on domestic coal supply and pricing in 2018, Reuters reported July 30.
The government introduced a rule in March that required Indonesian coal miners to sell 25% of their thermal coal output to domestic buyers, with supplies going to a state-owned utility capped at $70 per tonne, Reuters said.
Coordinating Maritime Minister Luhut Pandjaitan said proposed revisions to the rule could not feasibly be implemented before 2019.
