Peruvian precious metals miner Compañía de Minas Buenaventura SAA said April 12 that itproduced about 293,238 ounces of gold from its Orcopampa, LaZanja, Tantahuatayand Yanacocha minesin Peru in the first quarter.
The figure is lower compared to 358,785 ounces of gold in the comparable 2015 period.
Full-year gold output is expected to range from 1.1 million ounces to 1.2 million ounces.
The company also produced about 6.0 million ounces of silverfrom its Uchucchacua,Julcani, and operations in the quarter,which is higher compared to approximately 5.6 million ounces of silver recordeda year ago.
Silver production for 2016 will be between 22.8 million ouncesand 25.0 million ounces.
Meanwhile, zinc production at El Brocal, Uchucchacua, and Mallaytotaled 14,405 tonnes during the three-month period, while copper output at El Brocalwas 11,344 tonnes. The company expects to produce up to 88,800 tonnes of zinc andup to 45,000 tonnes of copper for the year.
Buenaventura did not report copper production figures for theCerro Verde mine,but expects the operation to produce up to 550,000 tonnes in 2016.
