Dominion to conduct study for 100-MW solar project at Washington Dulles airport

Dominion Energy Inc. is partnering with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to conduct feasibility studies for the development of a 100-MW solar power project across 1,200 acres at the Washington Dulles International Airport in northern Virginia.

The utility has signed a sublease with the airports authority to launch the feasibility studies, according to an Oct. 3 news release.

Dominion Energy on Sept. 18 also filed an application with PJM Interconnection to link the project to the transmission grid once it comes online, which could be as early as 2023.

Dominion Energy has targets reducing its carbon dioxide emissions 55% by 2030.
