Aquila is fully permitted to start construction at Back Forty zinc-gold project

Aquila Resources Inc. received its wetlands, lakes and streams permit from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality for its Back Forty zinc-gold project.

The company now holds all state and federal permissions required to start construction and operations at the project. Aquila said June 4 that it will immediately kick off preconstruction activities.

An open pit feasibility study is nearing completion, and a project execution plan is being finalized to define the development strategy.

Concurrently, the company is planning an exploration program to test additional targets and further define the underground potential of the deposit, where mineralization remains open at depth.

Aquila said it is well-financed to complete its planned preconstruction and exploration activities.

In February, the company updated the resource estimate for Back Forty to measured and indicated resources totaling 16.6 million tonnes grading 1.92 g/t gold, 24.7 g/t silver, 3.13% zinc, 0.32% copper and 0.26% lead for 1 million ounces of gold, 13.2 million ounces of silver, 1.15 billion pounds of zinc, 116.9 million pounds of copper and 94.9 million pounds of lead.
