Covanta acquires material processing facility in Georgia

Covanta HoldingCorp. subsidiary CovantaEnvironmental Solutions LLC has acquired a material processingfacility in Augusta, Ga., from USEcology Inc.

The company did not disclose financial details of theacquisition, which will expand Covanta's existing network in the Southeast,according to an April 5 statement. The facility will complement Covanta-operatedenergy-from-waste facilities in Florida and Alabama, as well as its materialprocessing facilities in North Carolina.

The facility provides nonhazardous waste solidification,shredding, water treatment and transportation services to commercial andindustrial customers.
