British American Tobacco PLC expects significant exchange rate headwinds to impact its otherwise "good" adjusted constant-currency EPS growth by around 9% in the first half of 2018.
For the full year, the negative impact is estimated at 6% on the adjusted constant-currency EPS, assuming exchange rates remain unchanged for the rest of the year.
Trading is in line with expectations, the company said June 12. Adjusted revenue and profit growth is expected to be skewed to the second half on a representative basis.
British American Tobacco's profit attributable to owners was £37.53 billion in 2017, with revenues of £20.29 billion during the year, boosted by sales of e-cigarettes and other next-generation products and by the acquisition of Reynolds American Inc.
