Millville Mutual Insurance Co. agreed to acquire the assets and assume the liabilities of Anthracite Mutual Fire Insurance Co.

The statutory merger is expected to add approximately $4.5 million to Millville Mutual's surplus. Anthracite Mutual, an affiliate of Millville Mutual, also intends to surrender its certificate of authority as part of the transaction.

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department is reviewing the transaction.
