EDF wins approval to build 77.5-MW solar project in Alberta

EDF EN Canada Inc. has won approval from the Alberta Utilities Commission to build and operate the 77.5-MW AC Vulcan Solar project in Vulcan County, Alberta.

The EdF Energies Nouvelles subsidiary expects to begin construction in spring 2017. Upon completion, the facility will sell power into the Alberta Power Pool, according to a Dec. 15 release.

EdF Energies Nouvelles is an EDF Group subsidiary.
