Battery Ventures adds Forest2Market, Fisher International to portfolio

Technology-focused private equity firm Battery Ventures bought Forest2Market Inc. and Fisher International Inc.

Forest2Market provides data, analytics, supply chain expertise and strategic consulting services to the global forest products market, while Fisher offers business intelligence and strategy consulting services for the pulp and paper market.

Forest2Market founder and CEO Peter Stewart will become CEO of the combined companies. He will join Battery's Jordan Welu and Dave Tabors on the board of the merged entity. Fisher founder and President Rod Fisher will become a senior adviser to both the new CEO and Fisher customers. The Forest2Market team and the rest of Fisher's team will stay intact.

The merger will aid in Forest2Market's expansion globally and across the value chain, from wood raw materials to end-product markets, Stewart said in a news release.
