NextEra Energy Resources breaks ground on 160-MW Neb. wind farm

An affiliate of NextEra Energy Resources LLC has started construction work on the 160-MW Sholes Wind Energy Center in Wayne County, Neb.

Omaha Public Power District will purchase the entire output of the facility under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The $200 million wind farm will consist of 71 GE turbines and is expected to enter operation in December, according to a July 27 news release.

NextEra Energy Resources is a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Inc.
