Health Insurance Innovations Inc. has signed an agreement with Washington's insurance commissioner to settle an investigation into the company, and will pay the state $1.5 million.

Washington was not one of the 40 states that participated in a multistate regulatory settlement agreement that became final in February 2019. It instead started a separate investigation based largely on the subject of the multistate examination.

Health Insurance Innovations stopped conducting business in Washington in April 2019.

The settlement was concluded on Dec. 31, 2019.
