Chineseride-hailing service Didi Chuxing said it is investing "tens of millionsof dollars" in China-basedbicycle-sharing startup ofo, ShanghaiDaily reported Sept. 26.
Theinvestment will bring the two firms together to collaborate on technology,product development, data and business operations, according to the report.Didi will also consider making the bike-sharing service available through itsapp.
Didi saidthe partnership with ofo, which offers 70,000 bikes across 20 cities in China,was part of its plan to develop an "open mobility ecosystem."
The movefollows Didi's recent acquisition of rival Uber Technologies Inc.'s China unit.
