Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret swings to profit in Q2

Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 3 kurus per share, compared with a loss of 1 kurus per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 9.0 million lira, compared with a loss of 1.4 million lira in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 18.0% from negative 4.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 48.0% on an annual basis to 49.7 million lira from 33.6 million lira, and total operating expenses fell 17.7% on an annual basis to 31.9 million lira from 38.8 million lira.

Reported net income came to 35.4 million lira, or 13 kurus per share, compared to a loss of 2.3 million lira, or a loss of 2 kurus per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Aug. 6, US$1 was equivalent to 2.78 Turkish lira.
