James River GroupHoldings Ltd. disclosed in a definitive proxy statement filed April6 that Janet Cowell and Ollie Sherman Jr. have been nominated as directors.

Cowell and Sherman stand for election at the annual meeting tohold office as a class II director until the 2019 annual general meeting of shareholdersor until his or her successor is duly elected and qualified.

Cowell has served as treasurer of the state of North Carolinasince 2009 and has a term that continues through 2016. Sherman retired as a managingprincipal with Towers Watson in 2010.

The company has determined that Cowell and Sherman are independentunder the NASDAQ Stock Market independence standards. The James River board recommendsa vote for the election of each of the nominated directors.
