Report: Equifax takes down webpage amid possible new breach

Another possible hack has prompted Equifax Inc. to take a customer assistance page offline, Ars Technica reported Oct. 12.

The technology news website found that Equifax's site was delivering fake Adobe Flash updates containing adware. In an email to Ars Technica, the company said it was aware of the issue with its credit report assistance link and had taken the page offline "out of an abundance of caution."
