Anglo American to invest US$162M to rehabilitate Australian operations

Anglo American PLC allocated over US$162 million to invest in the rehabilitation of its Australian operations over the next five years, Mining Weekly reported March 20.

About US$82 million will be used towards the restoration of its open cut Dawson mine, with another US$40 million earmarked for the Capcoal open cut mine.

The mining major's Australian operations include five metallurgical coal mines in Queensland, which comprises two open cut operations and three underground mines.
