Hyundai Motor Q3 profit falls YOY

Hyundai Motor Co. said its third-quarter normalized net income amounted to 2,709.28 South Korean won per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 2,513.92 won per share.

EPS decreased 16.5% year over year from 3,245.03 won.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 728.95 billion won, a decrease of 16.5% from 872.88 billion won in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 3.0% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 9.6% on an annual basis to 24.201 trillion won from 22.084 trillion won, and total operating expenses grew 9.4% from the prior-year period to 22.997 trillion won from 21.016 trillion won.

Reported net income fell 19.7% on an annual basis to 852.37 billion won, or 3,168.00 won per share, from 1.061 trillion won, or 3,946.00 won per share.

As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to 1,114.97 South Korean won.
