Regis Resources Ltd. achieved record gold production of 91,921 ounces in the September quarter at its Duketon gold project in Western Australia, it said Oct. 12.
The project's output rose 2% over the prior quarter, which was also a record and allowed Regis to hit the upper end of its fiscal 2017 production guidance of 335,000 to 365,000 ounces.
Cash costs for the first quarter of the company's fiscal 2018 totaled US$684 per ounce, with all-in sustaining costs of US$861 per ounce, compared to cash costs of US$723 per ounce and all-in sustaining costs of US$870 per ounce in the previous quarter.
The Duketon Southern Operations produced 61,150 ounces in the three months, a 2% quarter-over-quarter increase on the back of marginal improvements in throughput and grade. The Duketon Northern Operations, meanwhile, produced 30,771 ounces.
Regis' net profit for fiscal year 2017 jumped 24% year over year to US$138.2 million. Final dividends for the year totaled 15 U.S. cents per share, after a final dividend of 8 cents apiece.
