MAPFRE shuffles board of directors

MAPFRESA appointed Antonio Núñez as first vice chairman and CatalinaMiñarro as external second vice chair of its board of directors.

Miñarro was simultaneously appointed independentcoordinating director, replacing Rafael Beca Borrego, who will step down due topersonal reasons.

Formerly external second vice chair of its board, Núñez willreplace Esteban Tejera Montalvo, who will retire as group executive Dec. 31.

CFO Fernando Mata, who was named general manager ofcorporate finance, will replace Tejera on the board of directors.

The risk manager for the company, Ramón Carrasco, has beennamed group chief risk officer.

José Luis Gurtubay Francia was appointed deputy general managerof corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions. José Manuel Corral Vázquezwas named deputy general manager of MAPFRE's corporate business, clients andinnovation area.

Rafael Casas Gutiérrez will retire as group executive Dec.31.

The new executive committee will comprise all the company'sterritorial and business unit CEOs and general managers. All appointments willtake effect Jan. 1, 2017.

The company now has a total of 15 directors.
