Bank of Cyprus to seek premium listing on LSE

Bank of CyprusPublic Co. Ltd. said March 31 that it intends to seek a premium listingon the London Stock Exchange in the second half, subject to relevant approvals andmarket conditions.

The Cypriot lender expects that a premium listing and potentialinclusion in the FTSE U.K. Index series would enhance the group's visibility andshare liquidity. It would also help position the group to play an important rolein supporting the growth of the Cypriot economy and enhance the confidence of allstakeholders due to compliance with high standards of corporate governance and transparency,as required for a premium LSE listing.

Bank of Cyprus also noted its intention to maintain a listingon the Cyprus Stock Exchange. However, the group does not intend to maintain a listingon the Athens Exchange, as it no longer has banking operations in Greece.

HSBC Bank plc will act as sole adviser and sponsor in connectionwith the proposed premium listing on the LSE.
