Iberdrola installs turbines at 18-MW Spanish wind farm

Iberdrola SA finished installing seven wind turbines with a combined capacity of 18.375 MW at the Chimiche Park in Granadilla de Abona, Tenerife, the company's wind farm in the Canary Islands in Spain.

Iberdrola has partnered with Energías Ecológicas de Tenerife for the project while Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy provided the wind turbines, according to an Oct. 3 company news release.

Scheduled to reach operations before the end of 2018, the wind project represents an investment of €30 million and is expected to generate enough power for 15,000 households.
