C.H. Robinson Worldwide Q3 profit falls YOY

C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said its third-quarter normalized net income came to 82 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 82 cents per share.

EPS fell 8.6% year over year from 89 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $115.0 million, a decline of 9.7% from $127.4 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.0% from 3.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 12.8% year over year to $3.78 billion from $3.36 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 14.2% from the prior-year period to $3.59 billion from $3.14 billion.

Reported net income declined 6.8% from the prior-year period to $119.9 million, or 85 cents per share, from $128.6 million, or 90 cents per share.
