Nuclear update: Total availability climbs to highest summer level

Climbingfrom its highest point of the current summer season at 95.74% on July 22, totalU.S. nuclear plant availability edged higher early July 25 to 96.84% and was abovethe 94.87% recorded on the same day a year ago.

Workingto tug total output lower was a cut in output at Public Service Enterprise Group Inc.'s Salem 2 in New Jersey,which was trimmed to 14% as of early July 25, down from 28% on July 22.

Conversely,output at Tennessee Valley Authority'sWatts Bar 2 in Tennessee increased to 65% as of early July 25, up from 46% on July23.
