CSRA Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Jan. 1 amounted to 37 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 40 cents per share.
EPS declined 7.1% year over year from 40 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $60.9 million, a gain of 10.0% from $55.4 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 5.9% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to $1.03 billion from $999.0 million, and total operating expenses rose year over year to $916.4 million from $903.1 million.
Reported net income fell 14.2% on an annual basis to $47.8 million, or 29 cents per share, from $55.7 million, or 40 cents per share.
