EDF Renewable places 184-MW wind project online

EDF Renewable Energy has energized the 184-MW Kelly Creek wind farm in Ford and Kankakee counties, Ill.

The facility is comprised of 92 Vestas V100 wind turbines and will sell its output into the PJM Interconnection LLC wholesale market on a merchant basis. About 474,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be avoided yearly because of the wind project, according to a Dec. 27 company release.
