Ulta Beauty Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 2 came to 95 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 83 cents per share.
EPS rose 34.1% year over year from 71 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $61.4 million, an increase of 34.7% from $45.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 8.4% from 7.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 22.2% on an annual basis to $734.2 million from $601.0 million, and total operating expenses grew 20.5% on an annual basis to $636.3 million from $528.1 million.
Reported net income grew 34.9% on an annual basis to $60.8 million, or 94 cents per share, from $45.0 million, or 70 cents per share.
