UEXCorp. said the results obtained from metallurgical testing at theHorseshoe and Raven deposits, part of its Hidden Bay uranium project in Saskatchewan, indicate that the two deposits could be amenable to heap leach uranium recovery.
The bottle roll and column leach tests were conducted onsample material collected in the fall of 2015 from historical holes drilled byUEX between 2009 and 2011, and from surplus material collected previously toundertake the 2011 metallurgical test program.
The column leach tests performed on various samples averaged98% uranium recovery over a 60-day leaching period, and for the newly collectedmaterial crushed to 12.7 millimeters, 95% recovery was achieved after 28 daysof testing, the company noted in a July 18 statement.
