Ecuador's vice president was suspended from his duties Aug. 3 after he accused the government of President Lenin Moreno of issuing inaccurate economic data, Reuters reported.
Moreno released a decree sidelining Vice President Jorge Glas for an unstated period. The resolution branded Glas as not being a team player and criticized his loyalty, the report said.
In a statement Aug. 2, Glas defended himself against corruption allegations and said that Moreno's government had "perversely manipulated" economic figures.
