Former BTG PactualGroup CEO André Esteves will be reinstated at the company as a seniorpartner, the company said.
In the role, the former CEO will be "focused on partnershipmatters, advising Banco BTG PactualSA on strategy and supporting the development of its activities andoperations," BTG Pactual said in an April 27 statement.
The structure of the holding company that controls the bank sincethe arrest of Estevesin November 2015 will not change, the statement noted.
The announcement confirms an earlier report saying Esteves could assume a leading advisory positionin the bank following the Supreme Court decision to release him from .
Esteves was arrested as part of an investigation into the so-calledLava Jato ongoing inquiry into corruption at state-run oil company Petrobras andlater jailed in a Rio de Janeiro prison for his role in the scandal before beingplaced under house arrest. Since the arrest, BTG Pactual faced various problemsthat made it re-evaluate its operational strategies.
