NTE Carolinas II LLC awarded the engineering, procurement and construction services contract for its planned 475-MW, natural gas-fired power plant to Gemma Power Systems LLC.

The Reidsville Energy Center will be built in Rockingham County, N.C., according to a March 27 news release. Based on S&P Global Market Intelligence data, the project is estimated to cost $500 million and is expected to be completed by July 2021.

The NTE Energy affiliate completed the state and local permitting process to finance and construct the plant in August 2017.
