Deutsche Börse to include tech stocks in medium-, small-cap indexes

Deutsche Börse AG is getting rid of the segregation of technology and classic stocks in its MDAX, SDAX and TecDAX indexes.

The German exchange operator said tech firms will also be included in the midcap MDAX indexes and the small-cap SDAX index in the future.

Also, technology companies in the DAX index can now also be included in the TecDAX index.

Furthermore, both the MDAX and SDAX indexes will be expanded. The number of stocks in the MDAX will increase to 60 from 50, and those in the SDAX to 70 from 50.

The changes will take effect from Sept. 24.
