Nuclear update: Total US output eases despite Point Beach 1 restart

Total U.S. nuclear plant availability ticked lower earlyApril 5 to 87.38%, down from 87.47% on April 4 but still above the 83.79% recordedon the same day last year.

Supporting total availability was the return of 's Point Beach1 in Wisconsin. The unit was warming up at 1% early April 5 after being shut March12 for planned seasonal work.

Duke EnergyCorp.'s Brunswick 1 in North Carolina also saw output increase to 95%early April 5, up from 85% on April 4.
