HuluLLC is working on a new subscription service that would let usersstream shows from broadcast and cable TV networks, The Wall Street Journal reported May 1, citing sources familiarwith the plans.

The new service is expected to launch in the first quarterof 2017. Hulu is close to striking licensing deals with and to stream programsfrom their networks, while preliminary talks with other programmers have alsostarted.

Hulu's content owners are 21st Century Fox, Disney andComcast Corp.'sNBCUniversal MediaLLC.
