NBCUniversal MediaLLC's NBC Sports Group is set to broadcast The Kentucky Derby live invirtual reality.
The network said May 6 that it teamed with NextVR to give viewersaccess to the race in VR for the first time. The network will use seven VR cameras,five of which will be placed along the track while two others will be in the paddockarea where horses are exercised.
The coverage will begin at 4 p.m. ET on May 7. The network saidthat other races will also be broadcast in VR.
