Renewable Energy Systems to break ground on 50-MW solar facility in Texas

Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. will design and build the 50-MW Ivory solar facility in Dawson County, Texas.

RES recently sold the project to OCI Co. Ltd. subsidiary OCI Solar Power LLC, which executed a 25-year power purchase agreement with CPS Energy, according to a Feb. 27 release.

The project will include 197,000 photovoltaic solar panels and will generate enough energy to power approximately 35,000 homes through Oncor Electric Delivery.

Construction on the solar facility will begin in March and commercial operation is expected by November.
