2 Midwestern mutual banks complete merger

KansasCity, Kan.-based Inter-StateFederal Savings and Loan Association of Kansas City ($205.5million) merged withKansas City, Mo.-based FirstFederal Bank FSB ($504.0 million), effective May 1, according to anannouncement posted on the former's website.

The boardsofficially combined, with the organization operating under theFirst Federal Bank of Kansas City name. The processof merging systems and operations is set to complete by this fall.
