Alphabet Inc.'s Google LLC unveiled a new subscription service that bundles more than 350 games and apps for $4.99 a month.
Called Google Play Pass, the new service will offer content free of ads, in-app purchases and up-front payments, Austin Shoemaker, group product manager at Google Play, said in a Sept. 23 official blog post.
Play Pass will be available on Android devices in the U.S. this week and will soon roll out to additional countries.
Google is offering a 10-day free trial after which the U.S. search giant will charge a discounted subscription price of $1.99 per month for the first 12 months.
The move follows the launch of Apple Inc.'s new game subscription service Apple Arcade, which allows subscribers to play more than 100 games across the company's devices for $4.99 a month.
