Plascar Participaçíµes Industriais posts Q4 loss

Plascar Participações Industriais SA said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was a loss of 29.7 million reais.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin was 28.1%.

Total revenue came to 105.8 million reais, and total operating expenses came to 132.1 million reais.

Reported net income totaled a loss of 112.6 million reais, or a loss of 22.66 reais per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled a loss of 16.33 reais per share, compared with 88 centavos per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was a loss of 81.2 million reais, compared with income of 4.4 million reais in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue decreased 27.0% from the prior-year period to 480.8 million reais from 658.3 million reais, and total operating expenses decreased 9.6% year over year to 526.9 million reais from 582.7 million reais.

The company said reported net income totaled a loss of 198.3 million reais, or a loss of 39.91 reais per share, in the full year, compared with a loss of 35.0 million reais, or a loss of 7.04 reais per share, the prior year.

As of March 28, US$1 was equivalent to 3.68 reais.
