CalWest Bancorp looking to change size range of board

Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.-based CalWest Bancorp is seeking shareholder approval to changethe range of its board membership to between seven and 13 directors, according toa proxy filing.

CalWest's board of directors currently has a membership rangeof between eight and 15 directors. The company announcedits plan to reconstituteits board of directors during its first-quarter earnings release.

The company is also seeking shareholder approval to increasethe number of its authorized common shares to 100 million from 50 million.
