Community Health Systems Inc. said its units have completed the sale of three Virginia-based hospitals to subsidiaries of private company Bon Secours Mercy Health, effective Jan. 1.

Franklin, Tenn.-based healthcare facilities provider Community Health said the sale covers the 300-bed Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, 105-bed Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin and 80-bed Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center in Emporia, and their related assets.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In September 2019, Community Health sold two facilities in Florida as part of a planned divestiture.
