BBVA Francés sued over alleged hidden charges on foreign transactions

Argentine consumer defense association ADUC has filed a class-action lawsuit against BBVA Banco Francés SA over alleged hidden fees on transactions made abroad through the use of debit and credit cards, including purchases made in the internet, according to a Dec. 7 regulatory filing.

BBVA Francés said it is studying the content and implications of the lawsuit, although it noted that it will not have a significant impact on its assets and activity.

ADUC filed similar suits against other Argentine banks recently, including Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires SA and Banco Columbia SA.
