BrookfieldAsset Management Inc. has hired Ron Bloom as a vice chairman and managing partner, The New York Times' DealBook reported,citing a note he sent to contacts.

Bloom most recently served as a vice chairman of U.S.investment banking at Lazard Ltd.,according to the report.

A Brookfield Asset spokeswomanconfirmed the appointment to S&P Global Market Intelligence.
